At Invictus Prep, we've streamlined the essay process into digestible steps. Students learn not only how to put together a personal statement for college but also how to become strong writers for the future. Here's a sneak-peek into our essay process:
- Intro to Essay Writing: Our college essay process begins with the basics. Students will review a presentation that highlights the core facets of personal essay writing.
- Ideation and Brainstorming: We begin with the big picture. Students complete a series of 10 brainstorming exercises to get their gears turning and to identify which topic will help them stand out.
- Outlining: After generating unique ideas, students will create structured outlines to ensure a cohesive narrative.
- Positioning: Students will learn how to position their main takeaway to develop strong, persuasive arguments that highlight their strengths.
- Drafting: From here, we begin the drafting process as we discuss the principles of good writing.
- Organization: Students will review their drafts with College Readiness Specialists for big-picture edits, ensuring that essays have a logical flow and are easy to follow.
- Revising and Editing: Students and Specialists will polish their essays’ grammar and punctuation to perfection, and revise them through a rigorous editing process to achieve maximum clarity and effectiveness.
- Second Reader System: Your package will include support and feedback from a skilled second reader, ensuring the highest quality essay.
- Final Touches: Review for a final read. All essays will be good to go from here!
